In 2017, a Ukrainian candlemaker moved to the vibrant heart of Japan, bringing with her a suitcase full of dreams and a love for light and beauty. Life in a new country inspired creativity, but it wasn’t until 2020 that she began making candles — first for herself, then as small gifts for friends and family. Each candle was more than wax and wick; it was a quiet gesture of care and warmth in a fast-paced world.
By 2025, what had started as a personal hobby had blossomed into something much larger. Friends and admirers encouraged her to share these creations with a wider audience, and so LASKA LIGHTS was born. In the Ukrainian language LASKA means tenderness, care, and affection.
